Chris and Brittany Farr are parents of children with an array of special needs. Olyvia suffers from Progressive hearing loss as a result of a cochlea malformation and nerve damage. Along with the hearing loss Olyvia also has Sensory Processing Disorder, Grade 5 Vesicoureteral Reflux and Grade 5 Hydronephrosis in her left kidney.
Brittany's second child Adyn, was born prematurely. Adyn spent multiple weeks and months in the Childrens Hospital when the family found out he had severe GERD. (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) Due to the severity and lack of thriving, Adyn had a procedure done including a Nissen Fundoplication as well as a Gastrostomy tube placed for feeding and medicine. Along with the GERD, Adyn was diagnosed with Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome and Chromosome 7 Trisomy Mosaic which is very rare.
Chris and Brittany have a heart to serve the deaf community. We look forward to seeing them grow this ministry.
Married with two boys ages 6 and 1. My oldest has some sensory issues. I am currently an American Sign Language Tutor at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, MO. I graduated with an Associate of Arts with a minor in ASL and Psychology. I grew up with a mother who had late life hearing loss but was oral and never signed. I have been learning and using ASL since 2012. I also have some hearing loss myself and try to stay active in the Deaf community. If you have any questions about Deaf culture or American Sign Language I would be happy to answer to the best of my ability.
